“Last night was the Revival at the LaPlaine church. God provided the way for us to make it there safely despite the gracious rain he gave the land. The road had some serious washouts, one spot Tim (Pastor Ted) commented that if his car fell in no one would be able to see it. The people were waiting for us as we arrived! The children were so excited about the soccer camp and the families were lined up waiting for their chance to have a photo taken of them. We were given some coloring books and nail polish by another group back at the mission, so we were also able to entertain the children and pamper the women during some down time. It was such a blessing to have some time to get to know our new friends and family in La Plaine. It was a great afternoon, but the Revival was amazing! We all seemed more comfortable with each other and therefore the party started right away. Early in the night we sang our new favorite songs, “Tout Bagay Deja Byen” (Everything is already OK) and “Loue, Loue, Loue Alle-alleluia!” (Praise, Praise, Praise, Alleluia). Kirbi and I felt blessed that a Haitain mom about our age let us hold her precious 3 month old baby boy. Her husband had recently died before this baby was born, and she was still very sad about his death. During the music she was able to really dance because we were holding her baby. We loved it because he is just the cutest, cubbiest little thing, and she smiled and sang out so loud while she danced. There was so much dust that rose along with the steam from our bodies, but it was so great to worship God without reserve. Every seat was filled with 1 or 2 people, and the benches that would comfortably hold 4 people, sat 6-8. There were rows of people standing all around the church as well. Pastor Aaron from Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Ferdinand (Fadino) gave a powerful message about not losing hope when God's promises don't come when we would like. We need to keep faith and keep living for the Lord, even when things are hard. It was hard to say goodbye to my new friends. They have touched my life with their strength and their faith and I will not forget them. This church feels very comfortable to me, and I hope that I am able to see my new friends again.” - Karen
